Hi, I’m Ndelela

I started creating art in 2018. I needed to clear and nourish my mind. Making art allowed me to achieve this process. Our daily routine and worries are forgotten when we get into the creative rhythm. Not only the process of distraction but also the feeling of creating something gives me satisfaction.

Creating something says something. The fact that people can interpret makes it more interesting, to me this a start for a dialogue: what do you see in this work?

In 2023 I have devoted myself to creations that represent African masks with a contemporary and sometimes cubist touch. I called it the Uba collection. A mask allows you to express a face and for everyone to interpret and read it in their own way. Depending on the situation the mask that we wear varies from happiness, despair, sadness, astonishment, etc. What mask will you wear today?  But also when people take of their masks that they frequently use as armor you can see their true soul.

Every piece I create is also a reflection of my thoughts, experiences, and the concepts that challenge me.
